Manually Restore Vaulty Files from Google Drive

In some cases, you may want to bypass Vaulty’s automatic syncing and restore your vault files manually from Google Drive. Here’s how to do it.

🔍 Step 1: Find Your Vaulty Files on Drive

  1. Go to Google Drive in a browser.
  2. Open the appdata folder.
  3. Download the Vaulty folder.

Depending on the amount of content in your vault and speed of your connection, this could take some time.

📥 Step 2: Unzip the Downloaded Folder

  • The downloaded folder will be zipped to make it smaller.
  • You will need to unzip the folder.
  • This varies by the operating system you’re using.

📂 Step 3: Move Files to Your Phone

  1. Use a file manager or USB connection to place the .vdata files into:
    Documents/Vaulty/data
    on your phone’s internal storage.
  2. Open Vaulty. It will scan for the files and make them available in your vault.

🛠 If the files don’t show up, use the “Sync Now” button in Vaulty settings or restart the app.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Never rename or modify the .vdata files.
  • Ensure you are placing them in the correct folder.
  • Don’t mix files from different Google accounts—Vaulty can’t read them.

⏎ Alternate Approach

You may find it easier to transfer the zipped file to your device and then unzip it there. This should work fine too so just do whichever is easier for you.
