Manually Back Up or Transfer Vaulty Files

If you prefer not to use Google Drive sync or want a second backup, you can manually copy your Vaulty files to another location. Here’s how.

πŸ“± Where Files Are Stored on Your Phone

Vaulty saves hidden files in this folder:

Documents/Vaulty/data

Each file is renamed and saved in .vdata format to protect your privacy.

Note: For performance and compatability reasons, Vaulty uses a bunch of folders with short names to separate the files stored in the data folder.

πŸ“¦ What to Move

To back up all your hidden files:

  1. Open a file manager app.
  2. Navigate to:
Internal Storage > Documents > Vaulty
  3. Copy the entire Vaulty folder to your computer, cloud storage, or external device.

πŸ” To Transfer to Another Device

  1. Copy the Vaulty folder to the new phone using:
    • USB cable
    • SD card
  2. On the new phone, place the folder in the same location:
    Documents/Vaulty
  3. Open Vaulty and your files will appear once scanned.

πŸ” Be sure to move the files before uninstalling Vaulty on the original device or doing a factory reset.
