🔄 Online Backup Getting Some Love
A big focus over the past few days has been improving online backup:
- The backup screen now shows more helpful info, making it easier to understand what’s happening.
- We added advanced logging that testers can enable and send in if any backup issues come up.
- Behind the scenes, we refactored huge code files—some over 1,000 lines—into smaller, clearer pieces. Then we fine-tuned each one for reliability and stability.
- We’re also updating the code to use modern, battery-friendly Android tech to boost performance and make the app feel smoother overall.
Goofy Rendering Issues
We’ve gotten reports about some remaining rendering issues when zooming on images. I saw some of these in testing and was able to handle them but there are some ways it’s still drawing images incorrectly so I plan to take another pass at that and hopefully have it all working the way it should very soon.
Validation
As much as I want to rush new fixes out, we are always careful to make sure we’ve handled as much of the issues we can find first. Part of our efforts right now are towards making changes to the code safer and less likely to cause other issues. This will allow us to safely deliver improvements going forward.
